Certified Kubernetes Application Developer Course

I wanted to expand on my Docker knowledge by moving into Kubernetes. I found the relevant course on Cloud Academy and an exam voucher was available after completion of the course via works push to "modernise skills".

Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) Exam Preparation

The course is 21hrs and we're giving a limit of at least 2hrs of training per week towards this. Working my way through the content of the course it started off really interesting and I was enjoying the content as well as a good overview of Kubernetes.

7hrs of content above. This is where I should have stopped.

The 4 topics above were really good, engadging and the 4hr hands on lab was the best part of it. Passed the knowledge check I was feeling good about Kubernetes.

The remaining topics went into great detail on all other aspects of Kubernetes, incuding hands on labs; however my interest started to dwindle the more I went on. The last 10-12 hrs was a drag to get through, I wasn't enjoying it and mid way through this is when I decided I wasnt going to go for the Certification.

The Exam

One of the features I really enjoy about Cloud Academy is that they give you hands on labs, knowledge checks and some Exam type situations.

After deciding not to proceed with certification and almost dropping the course, I forced my way through the remaining topics and labs and decided to take the CC exam. I'm glad I did as I was pretty pleased with the outcome.
